A bit about me.
I am a sports enthusiast who enjoys keeping fit and strong. I enjoy road cycling (can't mountain bike), running (trail and road, definitely not soft sand) and the occasional swim. I have done a bunch of triathlons, and with a young family, I find my efforts better focused on the sports above water at the moment. In saying this, every year our family races the Karri Valley Triathlon. It's an annual event we've been doing for close to a decade, so you could say it's becoming a tradition. It's a great chance to keep us somewhat fit and challenge ourselves to improve our times. Our kids are starting to do the race too. Am I competitive? Only with myself.

I love healthcare data, especially over a period of time. Data is a good form of measure and accountability, and if you choose me as your audiologist, I will incorporate this into our practice. My current favourite pieces of technology to collect data are my Garmin watch and Apple smart watch, via their apps. There are a plethora of hearing technologies that have this ability too, like a wearable, this hearing technology can track your heart rate, steps, calories and more.

I am evidence-based and actively involved in research, currently working with the HearChoice decision aid digital tool kit with Curtin University, led by Professor Melanie Ferguson. I have two papers published and continue to work through evidence-based practices, ensuring I deliver up to date healthcare. The letters I've earned to pop behind my name include MCAud, AAudA, BH-Comm. This means I have a Bachelor's, with honors (BH-Comm), in commerce and a master's in clinical audiology (MCAud). The AAudA indicates I am a current member of Audiology Australia, which is our regulatory body. It's important that you seek care from a qualified, registered audiologist. Our understanding of how the ear and certain parts of the brain (auditory pathways) works is deep, and it allows us to problem solve more holistically. I have over a decade of audiological experience specialising in vestibular assessments, tinnitus management (I am Tinnitus Retraining Therapy TRT certified), microsuctioning (ear wax management), communication improvements and hearing aid prescriptions and fittings.
My main areas of interest are, harnessing digital technologies for improved health and healthcare, longevity and healthy ageing, analysing data sets (for example, from healthcare applications like Apple Health, Strava or the likes), and delivering modern and comprehensive healthcare service experiences.

My philosophy is you can't buy your health, but you can take care of it and improve it. Consistent, daily practices to improve your physical, emotional and mental health all add up, but the buck needs to stop with you.
